The current proposed route for the Vortex swim starts from San Francisco, USA, passes through the Trash Vortex and finishes on Kamilo Beach, Hawaii.
As part of a call to eliminate plastic water bottles from the waste stream, team members will swim inside one. A big one. Forty feet long and made from thousands of recycled plastic water bottles.
The proposed swimming schedule will be eight three-hour swimming shifts per day. Seven days a week.
The support vessel towing the giant bottle that team members will be swimming in will have a crew of ten, including a documentary crew.
